The Design
This large open plan kitchen is packed full of storage and features several floor to ceiling bespoke cabinets holding everyting from a pantry larder, coffee station and a home bar. The cabinets and worktop hugs the full area of the kitchen space and maximises every inch of the space.
The kitchen is our classic Westminster Style and works well with the family’s needs. The island offers a lot of storage and the open shelves are a lovely feature, which makes the area and island seem bigger than it is.
The space has great light which means that the blue colour of the kitchen cabinets reflects it into the white worktop surfaces of the lower kitchen run and the kitchen island.
“I always wanted a darker colour as the rest of the open plan living space is quite light in terms of colour palette and is now a space where we get lots of natural light. The colour we chose is quite special as it’s two tone - black when it’s darker and navy blue in the light.”
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
The Range Cooker and bespoke extractor fan hood are a lovely classic feature in this kitchen space and unites the cooking area so well. The large kitchen island works really well in this space and offers a wonderful seating area for all of the family.
The Quartz worktop looks beautiful against the cabinet colours and the mirror splashback brings the space together nicely.
We love how everything has a space in this kitchen. The coffee station with the bi-fold doors is a great breakfast nook and the drawers underneath the cold shelf stores away the coffee pods well and gives easy access to them. In addition, the bespoke tupperware drawer and pantry larder right next to the fidge freezer are incredibly functional and practional.
“For me - I love the breakfast bar as I use it everyday and it’s so practical and easy to close the door if it’s messy. For my husband - it’s the Island. It’s where we all tend to congregate when we have friends over and we love the connected banquette seating where the kids have dinner, do homework and the island is great for all the art and crafting that they are into!”
The client also worked with interior designer Amica Studio, who helped tie all the colours and design elements together throughout the house.

The Banquette Seating Area
This gorgeous bench seat is the perfect addition to the end of the large kitchen island. The upholstery for the bench and the chairs were designed and done by Herringbone as part of this project. The tongue and groove design adds texture and character to the space creating a real wow factor and feature.

The Utility And Boot Room
We love when a utility and boot room can be combined and this is a great example of how it can be done. This large room hosts all the essentials for keeping a home clean and tidy at all times. On one side is the utility room, washer and dryer as well as a great worktop and sink perfect for getting your washing done.
Yet, on the other side is a large L-shaped bench with plenty of storage for boots and shoes as well as hanging space for coats and jackets above it. The room sits just off the kitchen, for ultimate convinience.
