The Streatham Kitchen & Larder

The Design
We recently completed this lovely kitchen for a family near Streatham, London. This gorgeous eye-catching open plan kitchen is as unique as it is beautiful! The design includes two runs of lower cabinetry, a large island and floor to ceiling cabinets with the fridge freezer placed in the middle.
“I had a clear vision of what I wanted. David was great at listening and adapting the design to our style. The intial process was brilliant, exciting and lovely and it paved the way to get our dream kitchen.”
The cabinets are our Westminster Range, painted in a gorgeous Huguenot red colour which makes the painted porcelain worktop, splashback and floating shelves stand out. The overhang on the island allows for comfortly seating four people, which is perfect for entertaining as well as everyday life.
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
The space works as a large living, kitchen, dining area, which due to the nature of the design and bespoke make of the cabinets, flows seamlessly together as one. The double Belfast sink looks smart and the Quooker Fusion round gold tap looks elegant matching the Armac Martin brass handles.

“Our whole life we’ve had small kitchens and this was our chance to get our dream kitchen, for all the family to come together. The whole room is great for family, parties and eating and it’s made our close family talk more! It’s a really special space. I feel very lucky to have been able to do it.”
The beautiful veined porcelain worktop flows perfectly around the room and the floating shelves give a sense of space and elegance. The extractor fan is painted in a brass effect, matching the open corner of the island. The hidden storage is lovely in this kitchen and we love how you can peak through to the glassware and the wine fridge in the island.
The Larder Cupboard
On both sides of the fridge freezer are two large cabinets holding all the family’s essentials. To one side is the breakfast bar which features natural elements of oak shelving at different heights to store all essentials. The cold shelf is perfect for hiding away all the utilities whilst plugs have been fitted to enable the use of white goods. The drawers offer up the perfect storage for pasta, cereals, condiments etc. and the spice racks are great for keeping all your favourite flavours right at your fingertips.
On Using Herringbone

The fitters, Rob and Marc, were exemptional, so eager to help, listen and please, plus they knew their stuff. They are a real asset to Herringbone!”
