The Primrose Hill Kitchen & Washed Oak Larder
The Design
We had the pleasure of working with interior designer Sarah Hubner-Clark on designing this beautiful bespoke kitchen near Primrose Hill, London, recently. This project has an L-shaped run of lower level cabinetry in a dark blue colour. The island makes for a lovely social space and is in the same colour as the kitchen cabinets.
Kitted out with two sinks, one on the main run and one on the island this kitchen is functional, coherent and offers a smooth area of easy cooking and easy living. On the left hand side there is a gorgeous floor to ceiling four door larder, which is perfect for storing all of the family’s essentials.
All the bespoke cabinetry was designed in our Westminster range, a traditional shaker style cabinetry lending itself well with the sleek lines, handles and Range Cooker.
The Details: Colours, Handles & Bespoke Details
We love how the colour scheme in this kitchen unites the space from one corner to another. The dark blue colour changes in tone throughout the day and therefore also changes the atmosphere as the day goes by.
The worktop has been perfectly cut out to hold the sink on the island and offers smooth lines throughout the kitchen. We also love the floating washed oak shelves on either side of the Range Cooker which compliments the washed oak larder opposite, offering an additional touch of warmth and texture.
The brass handles and taps bring a classic feel to the space and compliments the Westminster Shaker style units really well, bringing in style and subtance. We always love storage drawers as they not only look great but they also fit kitchen essentials perfectly and offer easy reach.

The Larder
One of our favourite elements in this kitchen is the washed oak larder. It’s simply beautiful. The simplicity, the smooth lines and the bespoke fit truly shows off the craftmanship and it is a joy to look at.
Functionality is at the heart of the unit too. Inside the shelves are perfectly set out to enable the various pantry items to fit and the spice racks give extra storage for the family’s spice collection. The cold shelf is perfect for white goods and for preparing food and the coulored shelves compliment the wood in a lovely warm way.
