Haslemere Kitchen and Breakfast Bar

The Haslemere Kitchen & Breakfast Bar

“We loved the ethos of Herringbone as a company, their sustainability credentials, the fact they give back to the community, and that they plant a tree for every kitchen they make. They are also very generous in the advice they give on instagram, and I watched many of their Q&A’s whilst planning our kitchen. Finally, I had never seen a kitchen they had designed that I didn’t like, so that had to be a good start!”

The Design

This kitchen is simply beautiful, from the sleek lines of the cabinets and the symmetry of the space, to the large island and hidden white goods we had such a lovely time designing this kitchen with our wonderful clients.

The design features an L-shaped run of lower cabinets, upper cabinets on both sides of the hob with floor to ceiling cabinets hiding away the fridge and freezer. There is a large island in the middle and a large larder dresser to the left of it.

“We really enjoyed our visits to Canterbury to the studio, and our design sessions with David. It was very useful to be able to see the units and hardware in person, and through our brainstorms with David, we made many changes which have definitely really enhanced the final result.”

The kitchen is designed in our Rye Range and bespokely fitted to perfectly fit into this large kitchen extension. It’s painted in a lovely off-white which makes the island stand out in a lovely dark blue tone.

The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc

This kitchen has extraodinary attention to detail, maximising the space to its full potential. From the 30mm Silestone Quartz worktop flowing throughout the kitchen to the AGA neatly sitting inbetween cabinets we love how this kitchen flows so smoothly in so many ways. The little cupboard door above the AGA is perfect for storing oils and cooking essentials and even the drawers have been created in a bespoke manner to store spices, cuttlery etc. We love how everywhere you look you find a small beautiful surprise.

“There was great attention to final details, the tongue and groove on the end panels, the exact mix of knobs, pull cups and handles, and the addition of extra storage under the island that is so useful for items like vases, and jugs that you need but not on a daily basis. Another of my favourite features are the cupboards set into the pillars either side of the AGA. It means I can keep oils, and cooking ingredients close to hand but neatly stored away.”

The hidden storage is lovely in this kitchen and the Quooker tap serves as an elegant reminder of how this kitchen was designed to be lived in.

“In terms of our kitchen bucket list, we had always dreamed of a blue island, an AGA and a Quooker tap! We also wanted a breakfast unit and we designed this with doors that recess back into the unit, and this has worked so well.”

The Breakfast Bar

The large breakfast bar and storage unit is as elegant and stylish as it is functional. Its pocket doors make it convinient for the bar to be open when in use without being knocked about.

The cold shelf in the breakfast bar makes it easy to wipe down and it is fitted with plugs to allow for easy use of white goods etc.

On Using Herringbone

“David and the team were incredibly good about this last minute u-turns, and we are thrilled with the final result, and the kitchen is a joy to cook and spend time in.“

We wish the client a lifetime of fun and happiness in their beautiful home.
